TN Series power resistor networks utilize proprietary resistance film technology to yield the highest power available in a SIP package. Delivering up to 20 watts of total power, individual resistor values range from 1W to 60K-W in standard 5% tolerance (higher ohmic values and 1% available on request).
Multiple resistance values can be employed for custom design or a single resistance value which can be terminated in common-pin or isolated resistor configurations with tracking tolerances down to 0.1%. Total power is distributed over all resistor elements, where maximum power for a single resistor element is rated at 6 watts.
The common-pin style offers 3 to 16 resistor elements while isolated terminations allow 3 to 8 individual resistors. Unique wraparound end terminals are provided to enhance mounting stability and significantly reduce lead deformity on board that is common to other large SIP packages. High temperature solder is used on all terminations to prevent reflow of the pin assembly during installation and also to ensure a stable connection under load. Wraparound mounting terminals are live connections on the common style and electrically dead on the isolated style.
Versatile design options allow this resistor to be used in a variety of applications including semiconductor paralleling, fault protection schemes, line termination, and voltage divider circuits.
