Ohmite Manufacturing Company has now developed resistor arrays. Ohmite's new BG Series resistor arrays are designed for high volume chip resistor users who want to reduce total assembly cost, component count, and improve reliability.

BG Series resistor arrays are very low profile surface mount devices that hold up to 24 discrete resistor elements in a single package. BG Series resistor arrays meet EIA/ECA Flip Chip package requirements, and are terminated with reliable, high temperature solder balls in a peripheral configuration featuring redundant common bus attachments to improve connection reliability. The BG Series product has been carefully engineered with proprietary thick film materials on high purity alumina, utilizing an acid-resistant, glass coating for environmental protection.

The total package power rating is 1.2 watts (50mW max per resistor). Resistance values range from 5ohm to 2Megohm with absolute tolerances down to ±1% (±2% std), and ratio tolerances down to ±0.25% (±0.5% std). Controlled laser trim and glass encapsulation processes reduce the occurrence of resistance drift, which commonly occurs as a result of direct exposure to some automated assembly environments. Resistor elements can be terminated in Common, Isolated, or special network configurations to provide a variety of circuit solutions. Consult factory for special designs and configurations offered in 16-ball SOIC or 20-ball QSOP outlines. Tape and reel packaging is provided for use with automatic assembly equipment in quantities of 3000pcs.

BG Series microelectronic resistor arrays exhibit very low inductance when fully charged and are ideal for a variety of high volume applications including wireless communications, hard disk drives, laptop computers, PCMCIA cards, DC/DC converters, and GPS.
