90 Series Enamel Color Change

Attention All Consumers of Ohmite 90 Series Resistors

Commencing October 15th, 2000, the Ohmite 90 Series Resistor will convert from white enamel to black. This change will apply to all 90 Series products, whether standard or custom. Existing inventories, produced in the original white color, will be shipped over a period of several months. Therefore, customers may receive either color for a period of time, until the balance of white-coated product is consumed.

Ohmite Engineering and Quality Control have conducted extensive tests on the black pigmented enamel coating, and have deemed it to meet or exceed all published 90 Series specifications.

Ohmite has made this change since the acquisition of Ward Leonard Resistor Division of C.T. Gamble Industries, and the adaptation of their patented (white) Centohm coating compound. The black pigmentation on the 90 Series will insure that the two products do not become mixed on our production lines.

The 90 Series is used by thousands of customers worldwide. Most of them are serviced through our valued network of distributors. It is impractical to attempt to notify each individual user, so we rely on each of our sales channels to pass this announcement along to those customers who need it. To make this task easier, we are posting this notification on our website.

We thank you for your cooperation and support.
