  • ARCOL HS Series Aluminium Housed Resistors

ARCOL's HS series of high-power, aluminum-housed resistors offers an unequaled balance of pulse power capability versus volume. The manufacturer uses a wire-wound design to maximize the high pulse characteristics - the power dissipates linearly to zero, even at high ambient temperatures. The HS300 has a power rating of 300W (with a heatsink). Despite the high power rating, it is packaged within a compact aluminum housing measuring just 45.5x41.8x141mm.

ARCOL's HS range of aluminum-housed power resistors includes ten wattages in total, from 10W-300W. In addition, liquid-cooled versions are offered which extends the top-end of the power range to 600-900W. An advanced design optimizes stability, linearity, and reliability, making the HS Resistors suitable for many applications including braking resistor; inrush limiter; inverter/converter; snubber; and balancing resistor.

Many terminal options are offered - greater than those found on any similar resistors on the market. Seven different terminations are available in total. The manufacturing process is in line with the requirements of MIL 18546 and IEC 115.

The HS Resistor family is RoHS compliant and the HS resistors are designed for easy assembly. The Ohmic resistance values vary from R005 to 100K depending on wattage size and the tolerances values for low Ω values are typically ≥ R05 ±5% ≤ R047 ±10%. The temperature coefficients are typically < 1K 100ppm Std. > 1K 25ppm as standard.
