HS Series High Power Aluminium Housed Resistors

ARCOL Resistors has announced the HS series of high-power, aluminium-housed resistors which offer an unequalled balance of pulse power capability versus volume. The HS power resistors are manufactured using wire-wound design to maximise the high pulse capability. From high ambient temperatures the power dissipates linearly to zero. At the top-end of the power range, the HS300 has a power rating of 300W with a heatsink, packaged within an aluminium housing measuring just 45.5x41.8x141mm. Ten wattages are offered, from 10W-300W. Liquid-cooled versions are also offered which provide a 600-900W capability. The HS power resistors are also optimised for stability, linearity and reliability, making them suitable for many applications including: inverter/converter; snubber; braking resistor; inrush limiter; and balancing resistor. The HS resistors are manufactured in line with the requirements of MIL 18546 and IEC 115. The terminal options are greater than those found on any similar resistors on the market – no less than seven different terminations are available. The HS power resistors are RoHS compliant and are designed for easy assembly. Ohmic resistance values vary from R005 to 100K depending on wattage size and the tolerances values for low Ω values are typically ≥ R05 ±5% ≤ R047 ±10%. The temperature coefficients are typically < 1K 100ppm Std. > 1K 25ppm as standard. The HS series is available on short lead times – contact ARCOL Resistors sales department for more details.
